Thank you for your interest in becoming a SKYDB Editor! This is the first step to contributing to the world's most comprehensive and reliable database of tall buildings and major projects. We welcome anyone with a passion for buildings and a commitment to accuracy, regardless of background or experience.

SKYDB runs on real infrastructure, and operation costs money. To keep SKYDB going, standard community access is paid (called SKYDB Premium). There are two ways to get SKYDB Premium: you either pay the membership fee (with no obligation to contribute anything in return), or you apply on this page to become a SKYDB Editor. The editor status itself is not Premium or giving your community access, it just gives you access to the edit tools. But as an Editor you can earn your way to Premium over time, through accepted contributions. Either way, the cost is the same paid in money or paid in contributions.

As a SKYDB Editor, once you have earned at least the membership fee within 3 months, your account is automatically upgraded to Premium at no charge for 12 months. If you do not reach this level, you stay a SKYDB Editor with the constant risk of losing editorial access if you remain inactive for more than 3 months.

Okay, let's move on!

Your next steps:

All existing editors will be notified about your application and can vote on it. Once at least 10 votes have been collected and the majority are positive, your application will be accepted and you will get access to the edit tools. The longer and more detailed your answers, the greater your chance of being accepted. Most applications are rejected due to thin answers or missing sources. You will get feedback on your application within 72 hours. This gives existing editors time to read your application and take part in the review. Please answer in as much detail as you can.
