Purpose-built Baha'i Houses of Worship follow a nine-sided design, with entrances expressing openness to all. Their architecture varies, and gardens commonly surround them.
The religious purpose is prayer and worship in the Baha'i tradition. A nine-sided plan alone does not establish that dedication, and visitors need not be members of the faith.
