recognition date

The recognition date for any type of formal recognition is the date, month, year, timeframe, or other time value explicitly associated with that bestowal of the recognition. It can be the date of bestowal or the date during which the recognition was earned, depending on the practices of the bestower.

The time value follows the bestower's stated association with the recognition. It can identify when the honor was conferred or the period of achievement it recognizes.

A year or other period can be the proper value rather than a precise ceremony date. The recognition date does not necessarily identify the day a physical prize was handed over.
