recycling center
A site collecting recyclable waste for processing, often with sorting and with or without public drop-off access.
A recycling center is a site where recyclable waste is collected and often sorted for processing. It may or may not be open to the public for personal deposit of recyclable materials. These facilities usually handle such materials as metals, plastics, paper, cardboard, wood, and organic waste.
Sorting is common but is not required at every collection site. The facility can handle one recyclable material or a mixed range.
Public drop-off access is optional. A facility receiving materials only through organized collection services remains included.
