mandir

A Hindu temple dedicated to worship or reverence of one or more deities in the Hindu faith.

A mandir is a Hindu temple: a site dedicated to the worship or reverence of any Hindu deity or deities.

The sacred dedication identifies the Hindu religious use. A temple can be devoted to one deity or several.

The number of deities does not impose one size or building layout. A religious worship site is distinct from an image or monument displayed only for secular purposes.
