Quantities of units indicate the numbers of any special type of modular divisions within a structure or module, especially divisions intended for different users.

The unit is a defined division of the structure, often intended for a different user or occupant. Several rooms can belong to one such unit.

A room count concerns internal spaces, while a unit count concerns the specified occupancy division. Neither necessarily equals the number of people using the building.
