EPIQ: 2024 Winner

The SKYDB Awards recognize high-rise buildings that unite architectural quality with practical performance, and EPIQ in Quito was selected as the 2024 SKYDB Awards Winner.

The 24-story residential and office tower occupies the southern edge of Parque La Carolina. Rounded floor plates open views in several directions and avoid treating any elevation as the back of the building. A new pedestrian passage cuts through the base, linking the surrounding streets more directly to the park.

Terraces step around the facade and provide planted outdoor areas for residents at different heights. Earth-toned surfaces and a herringbone pattern refer to the masonry and paving of Quito's historic center without copying its forms. The award recognizes a high-rise that extends the public route through its site and uses the building's curved outline to mediate between the city grid and the park.
