smoking room
An indoor room enclosed by walls and doors and specifically designated for smoking.
A smoking room is an area inside a building closed off by doors and walls, which is designated for smoking. They are often found in airports and other public buildings where smokers cannot easily step outside. They are also common in restaurants and bars, especially where the laws restrict public smoking.
The room is set apart for smoking by both its enclosure and its designated use. An unenclosed part of a larger room lacks the doors-and-walls separation stated in this definition.
The feature is indoors, which distinguishes it from an outdoor area where smoking is permitted. Its presence identifies the designated room rather than permission to smoke throughout the rest of the building.
