criminal court
A court of law restricted to criminal cases, with international criminal courts classified separately.
A criminal court is a court of law whose jurisdiction is limited to criminal cases, involving harm or endangerment to persons or property. International criminal courts are not included under this usage, and should be classified as international courthouses.
The court hears criminal proceedings within its jurisdiction. This differs from a court limited to civil monetary disputes.
International criminal courts retain the international-courthouse usage. A criminal subject matter does not override that stated international distinction.
