An observation ride is a structure with moving platforms or cabins where riders are taken to a vantage point or series of vantage points to enjoy a special view. The course of the ride may take riders to a high point or along a special fixed route.
The moving carrier brings passengers to views along a set course. The route can lead to one elevated viewpoint or pass through a series of viewpoints.
A stationary observation deck provides a vantage point without moving its visitors on a ride. A gyro tower supplies the movement with a passenger disc traveling along a stem.
