A policy allowing pets indicates that most domestic animals are allowed to visit or to be kept on a property, in a structure, or within a defined part of a structure or property. These include dogs, cats, rabbits, and commonly domesticated fish, birds, rodents, reptiles, and other animals. It does not necessarily permit any other kind of animal to be present on the premises.

The permission covers most ordinary domestic pets and can apply to visits or to keeping them on the property. It is not unlimited permission for every animal species.

Only small pets allowed adds a size or weight limit, while cats allowed identifies a narrower animal permission. Neither narrower rule is equivalent to the broader pet allowance here.
