An intended main function occupying at least 10% of an area, with a separate 50% threshold for parking.
The main uses of a defined space or area are the use types which constitute its identity and primary purpose.
At least 10% of the gross floor area must be devoted to a particular use for it to qualify as a main use, as opposed to a secondary use. The only exception is parking, which is considered a secondary use whenever it occupies less than 50% of a structure or other place.
Several functions can each occupy a qualifying share of the same place. The term does not require one function to occupy a majority; parking remains subject to its separate threshold.
