concrete

A load-bearing skeletal structure made of hardened concrete, with the concrete carrying structural loads.

A concrete frame is a load-bearing skeletal structure composed of any form of hardened concrete, an aggregate substance made from cement, lime, crushed rock or sand, water, and other ingredients.

The concrete forms the supporting framework. Concrete used only as an exterior finish has a separate facade-material role.

Cast-in-place reinforced concrete and precast concrete describe different construction forms within this material family. A concrete-steel mixed frame combines separate steel framing elements with concrete.
