An indoor arena is a fully enclosed stadium or hall with raked seating around a performance area and a fixed roof.

The roof is a permanent enclosing element rather than a cover that opens. Raked seating provides the spectator arrangement around the central performance space.

A convertible stadium differs in its movable roof. An outdoor stadium remains at least partly open to the sky.
