circuital numbering

House numbering in which a single sequence progresses up one side of a street and reverses itself on the other side.

Circuital numbering refers to a house numbering system in which numbers increase linearly up one side of a street, before the sequence jumps across the street (or loops around a terminus) and continues in the opposite direction across the street, forming a loop or circuit. The progression may proceed clockwise or counterclockwise. This system generally includes both even and odd numbers on each side of the street, but it may skip over many integers or include fractions in its house numbering
