bottling plant

An industrial facility producing and bottling beverages, or a separate area used for bottling them.

A bottling plant is an industrial facility for the mass production and bottling of beverages, such as soft drinks, wines, juices, energy drinks, and water. This usage may also be applied to sites where beer or milk are bottled but not produced; likewise it can be applied to the distinct section of a brewery or creamery where the products are bottled.

Beer or milk can be bottled at a site where the beverage itself is produced elsewhere. The bottling operation still supplies the stated use.

A separate bottling section within a brewery or creamery can have this more specific function. Producing the beverage and filling its containers are distinct steps even when they occur at one facility.
