headquarters
The main or only office of a company, ranging from a single-office firm to a worldwide headquarters.
A company is listed as a headquarters when it is the main or only office of that company. This is applicable to the world headquarters of a large enterprise as well as small firms with single offices. Subsidiary offices are usually listed as branches or divisions.
The office has the central or sole position within that company. A small enterprise with one office has a headquarters even without subordinate offices elsewhere.
A branch is subordinate to the home office. An office's size alone does not determine whether it is the company's headquarters.
