A parcel distribution center is a gathering and distribution point at any point between the sender of packages and the receiver. It can include the place where locally shipped packages are disseminated outward, or where incoming packages are sent for final local distribution; usually however these usages coincide in the same place.
Packages can be gathered for outward shipment or received for final local distribution. A single center can perform both tasks.
The center lies between the sender and the receiver in the parcel-delivery network. Its function is the gathering and distribution of packages during that journey.
