A treasure storage location is a facility, structure, vault, or other location for keeping items of extreme value when they are not in use and not on display. These are generally configured to provide a high level of protection to their contents, with fortifications, locks, and other security measures. Examples include places for storing cash, gold, jewels, artworks, or items of high historical importance.
Both lack of active use and lack of display are part of the storage condition. A gallery displaying valuable artwork has a different purpose from a vault holding it out of public view.
Value can come from the material itself or from the historical or artistic importance of an object. The storage location need not be a cash or bullion vault.
