Forestry product storage facilities are places where large amounts of unsorted, unpackaged, and relatively homogeneous products of forestry are stored, usually at a transfer point in the distribution process. Forestry products include raw wood and commodities derived from it, including milled wood and cardboard or paper products.
The stored commodity can be harvested wood or material derived from wood processing. Raw timber, milled lumber, and paper commodities are therefore distinguished within the same broader storage group.
Bulk, unpackaged storage is the common condition. A warehouse containing packaged finished merchandise is a different storage situation.
