number-comma-street format

Addresses written with the house number first, then the street name, separated by a comma.

The number-comma-street format describes addresses in which the house number is written first, followed by a comma, then followed by the street name, usually ending with the generic type of street (e.g. "Avenue" or "Boulevard").

The comma separates the initial house number from the street expression that follows it. The generic street type normally forms the end of that street expression.

The number-street format uses the same broad order without the comma. This difference concerns how the address is written, rather than how house numbers progress along the street.
