medical heliport

A medical heliport is a site designated for boarding, loading, take-offs, and landings of helicopters for emergency transport of patients, doctors, medical personnel, or medical supplies. They are commonly located near hospitals.

Patient transport is one included activity. Emergency flights carrying doctors, other medical personnel, or medical supplies also meet the medical purpose.

A hospital location is common without being mandatory. The designation concerns emergency medical helicopter operations at the site.
