A circular or oval guideway used to keep horses walking for their own fitness.
A horse walker is a circular or oval guideway where horses are kept walking to stay in shape, especially to save the human labor of riding them. Many of them have automatic moving partitions to prod them along. Horse walkers can be indoors or outdoors, and are often in semi-enclosed structures.
The guideway maintains walking exercise along a circular or oval route. Automatic partitions are common, but enclosure of the route is not required.
A stable houses horses between activities. The walker provides exercise and is distinct from that accommodation, even when both occupy the same equestrian site.
