nuclear fuel storage
Bulk storage of unspent nuclear fuel, including uranium, excluding spent fuel and other nuclear waste.
Nuclear fuel storage facilities are places for bulk storage of unspent nuclear fuels, such as uranium. It does not include storage space for spent nuclear fuel or other forms of nuclear waste.
The fuel is held before it has been spent in nuclear operation. Uranium is an example, without limiting the definition to that one fuel material.
Spent fuel belongs to nuclear waste storage. Its remaining radioactivity does not make it unspent fuel under this definition.
