skywalk
An observation walkway extending over an open gap while connected to the land or support on only one side.

A skywalk is like a half-bridge, a walkway extending over an open space for observation purposes but connected to only one side of the chasm. Its pathway may or may not form a loop.
The route projects into the open space for viewing rather than connecting opposite sides. Its one-sided connection distinguishes it from a crossing bridge.
The pathway can return in a loop or end above the gap. Either arrangement retains the same one-sided connection to the surrounding land or support.
