owner
The person or entity with a legally recognized ownership claim to all or part of an object.
The owner of any object is a company, organization, person, or other entity with a legally recognized claim to all or part of that object, not including options to purchase shares or ownership titles.
Partial ownership is sufficient when the claim is legally recognized. An unexercised option to purchase a title or shares does not itself confer that ownership role.
The owner of the object can differ from the owner of its land. A hired property manager can also act for the owner without acquiring an ownership interest.
