ecosystem-themed zoo exhibit
A zoo habitat displaying animals of a particular ecosystem, recreated with natural features or artificial materials.
An ecosystem-themed zoo exhibit is a habitat, enclosure, building, or area devoted to housing and showing animals from a particular environment or ecological system, such as a swamp, desert, jungle, savannah, polar zone, forest, prairie, seacoast, mountainous area, or other distinct natural landscape. The ecosystem may be re-created faithfully using genuine plants and natural features, or artificially using synthetic or substitute materials, dioramas, and other artifice to form the appearance of the ecosystem.
The environment can be recreated with real plants and natural features or with synthetic substitutes and scenery. Authentic natural materials are not mandatory.
A region-themed exhibit is defined by geographic origin. This entry instead groups the display around an ecological setting such as a swamp or desert.
