BREEAM Outstanding

The outstanding level of the BREEAM green building certificate, awarded for a score of at least 85 per cent.

BREEAM Outstanding requires a score of at least 85 per cent across energy, health, water, materials, waste, land use, pollution and management.

The thresholds belong to the version of the scheme in force at assessment, and BREEAM is issued in national variants, so a level from one country's scheme is not identical to the same level elsewhere.

Outstanding is deliberately rare and additionally requires the building's performance to be published.
