points of entry

Points of entry are the various points, usually at the perimeter of a place, where persons or things can enter or exit that place, either coming from or going into the surrounding area or neighboring places.

The interface connects the place with its surroundings or a neighboring place. An exit is therefore a point of entry in this broader sense of access between spaces.

A pathway extends along a route, while a point of entry identifies the interface where that route crosses into or out of a place. The transported subject can be a person or a thing.
