construction cost CHF

The total costs of construction in Swiss Francs as recorded at the time of completion.

Construction costs (CHF) are the total expenses for a structure's original development from conception to completion, as stated in Swiss Francs as of the moment of completion, and is not adjusted for inflation. It includes land costs, architects' fees, interest, and all other charges incurred by the developer or owner. Costs of enhancements after completion, including remodeling and tenant finishes, are not included.

This field permits a greater degree of rounding than other data fields, because of complications both in collecting these figures and in calculating them.

The currency is part of what the field records and not a unit it can be converted out of. Each holds the cost as stated in that currency at completion, so filling a second currency field by converting the first stores a figure nobody was ever charged.

Nothing here is adjusted for inflation. A cost from 1975 and one from 2020 are not comparable, and the year comes from the completion date rather than from the field.

Where a source gives a range or a rounded figure, the rounding is kept. These numbers are collected from annual reports and press releases and are rarely precise to begin with.
