paddleboat rental

A facility renting small boats powered by foot pedals, generally for recreational use.

A paddleboat rental facility is a place where small boats powered by foot pedals can be rented, usually for recreational use. This does not include rowboat rental, even though such boats may be rowed with paddles.

Foot pedals supply the boat's power. A boat propelled using handheld paddles does not meet that condition.

Rowboat rental includes canoes and kayaks propelled by oars or paddles. The distinction concerns how the renter powers the boat.
