Asphalt (as a flooring or paving material) is a hardened black or dark gray substance formed by mixing crushed rock aggregate with petroleum-derived liquid or viscous asphalt. It is normally poured onto the site in wet form and allowed to dry, but is also available in the form of prefabricated paving blocks.
