damaged by another structure

Impacting material or construction errors from a nearby structure damages a structure partly or completely.

A structure is damaged by another structure when any kind of material belonging to some other structure impacts it and causes notable damage. This can include an adjacent building falling onto the damaged structure, or pieces of a nearby structure falling, shifting, or being blown onto the damaged structure.

This category of damage also applies whenever a structure is damaged through construction errors on a neighboring structure. For example, if excavation on an adjacent construction site causes damage through improper relocation of soil, then the damaged building can be listed as damaged by another structure.

Construction errors at the neighboring project can qualify without any part of that project striking the damaged structure. Damage by construction errors is reserved for mistakes in the damaged structure's own construction.
