cargo storage
A place or shelter for intermediate storage of cargo before further transportation.
A cargo storage facility is a place or shelter where any kind of shipped goods are placed in intermediate storage along a shipping route, usually at a point of transfer such as an air, rail, trucking, or shipping cargo terminal.
The goods are held between stages of a shipping journey. An air, rail, road, or water transport connection can create the need for this intermediate storage.
The storage can occupy a shelter or another designated place. It is separate from a cargo-transfer operation in which goods pass rapidly onward without a storage function.
