skateboarding
Space designated for skating on wheeled boards, with special ramps and obstacles.
A skateboard park, skateboard rink, or skateboarding site is a site with special surfaces, ramps, obstacles, and slopes suitable for recreational or performance skateboarding. Participants in this sport ride a low board with wheels under it, without their feet being bound to the board, and execute jumps, turns, acrobatics, and other maneuvers, usually on an uneven or challenging surface.
The rider stands on a wheeled board without bindings attaching the feet. The configured surfaces support recreational riding or performance maneuvers.
Ramps and obstacles distinguish the prepared sporting site from a route used merely to travel from place to place. The site can accommodate recreation as well as displayed skills.
