Sources of data in the form of html or similar content, not including web-hosted documents.

Websites are publications on the internet using hypertext markup language (html) or similar means of presentation. This category of data source is used when the information comes from the regular webpage content of any website - however it excludes web content that can be described as other forms of stand-alone media, which just happen to be replicated on the internet - such as images, technical drawings, copies of documents, etc.

The source is the regular content of the page. A standalone document, photograph, or technical drawing remains that type of source when the website merely makes a copy available.

The relationship of the publisher to the content helps distinguish official, professional, and user-generated websites. The internet address alone does not establish the publisher's access to the underlying evidence.
