architectural property

A particular physical element or characteristic belonging to a structure, usually distinct from its overall form.

An architectural property is a special, unusual, or important feature of a structure which describes a physical element belonging to it. It does not generally describe the structure as a whole.

The property concerns a particular element of the structure. A projecting dormer or an architectural opening can have an identity within a larger building.

The whole building's perimeter form describes its prevailing plan outline. An architectural property generally concerns a particular feature within that overall form.
