BREEAM

BREEAM, the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method, is the oldest of the green building rating systems, first issued in 1990. It rates energy, health, water, materials, waste, land use, pollution and management.

Five levels exist: Pass, Good, Very Good, Excellent and Outstanding. This value records a certificate whose level is unknown; where the level is known, use it instead.

The score is a percentage rather than a point total, which is what distinguishes it from LEED. The two systems are not comparable level for level.
