A shop whose wares are related mainly by their connection to a commemorated theme or geographic locality.
A souvenir store is a retail outlet whose wares generally commemorate a common theme or place, usually the place where the store is located. It can also sell gifts or crafts which are related to the place or theme but which do not explicitly mention that location or topic.
The shared subject can be a place or another commemorated theme. It is usually connected to the shop's location but need not be.
An item can relate to the theme without displaying its name. A gift shop has no requirement that its merchandise share such a theme.
