A hotel building is an enclosed structure where a hotel forms a primary usage. Normally run as businesses, hotels are places where guests pay to sleep or stay on a night-by-night basis. A few hotels offer extended stay service, where guests may pay on a scale rated for longer increments.

Hotel buildings often feature an array of amenities such as swimming pools and business centers to attract guests. Their public or common areas often include large lobbies and multiple ballrooms which can be rented out for events.

Although hotel buildings can be located almost anywhere that a critical mass of guests wishes to stay, they are most often found in city centers, near airports and central train stations, alongside major roads, and in resort-quality areas with attractive natural features like beaches.
