A quality certificate is a formal acknowledgment that a building, company, or anything else meets or exceeds some particular measure of overall or particular quality. It may be given by a government, an industry-wide organization, a group of experts, or any other entity with expertise in the adjudged quality.

The certification acknowledges that a stated measure of quality has been met or exceeded. It can assess one particular quality rather than all aspects of the recipient.

A green certificate specifically concerns environmental sustainability. A quality certificate can instead address other prescribed qualities or overall performance.
