artist
The primary designer of decorative artworks on a structure, or the designer of an artistic structure.
An artist is a person who conceives or designs an artistic work, either as a free-standing sculpture or as a supplement to another structure.
Sculptors, stonecarvers, painters, and installation artists can be connected with buildings if their work is intended as permanent enhancement of the building's common areas. Artists are often the chief designers of monuments and fountains, and usually for sculptures.
For a building, the artwork must be intended as a permanent enhancement of common areas. Temporary display or artwork in an unrelated private space does not establish that building association.
