wind power generation

Electricity generation from wind turbines, including freestanding turbines and qualifying installations on other structures.

A wind-driven power plant is any structure or facility which harnesses mechanical energy from wind turbines and converts it into usable electricity. This usage can be applied to any free-standing wind turbine. It can also be applied to any structure with some form of turbine installed on its surface or roof, as long as the power generated is fed regularly into a network serving other structures.

A freestanding wind turbine can receive this usage directly. A turbine attached to another structure qualifies when it regularly supplies a network serving other structures.

Electricity used only inside the host building does not meet that network-supply condition for an attached installation. The presence of a turbine and the building's use as a generating site are therefore separate considerations.
