A company consolidated into another company under a different name, with its former identity retained for earlier work.
Any company which is consolidated into another company with a different name is considered merged. If one of the merging companies retains its name, then it retains the same status before and after the merger; thus only the entity which loses its name is classified as merged.
If the company is associated with a structure each company entry is linked to the structures associated with it before the merger. These buildings are indexed on the pages of both the old (merged) and new (active) companies.
The former company identity remains relevant to the work performed before consolidation. A company that keeps its name through the merger retains its preceding status under the distinction above.
