military housing

Housing designated specifically for soldiers or officers in any military force.

Military housing is residential space used for the housing of active military personnel. This includes barracks as well as more commodious housing devoted to officers.

The residents are active military personnel housed because of that service. The accommodation can be a barracks or more spacious quarters for officers.

A civilian residence occupied by a former service member does not acquire this usage from that history alone. The designation concerns housing for active personnel.
