flight school
A school training students to pilot aircraft or extending pilots' skills to additional aircraft types.
A flight school is a place where students are trained to fly aircraft, or where their piloting skills are extended to additional types of aircraft. These are usually located close to airfields.
Both initial pilot training and instruction in further aircraft types are included. Existing pilots can therefore be students at the facility.
Proximity to an airfield is usual without being a defining requirement. The training purpose distinguishes the school from an airport terminal or aircraft storage area.
