Valet parking is a service provided to the users, occupants, customers, or visitors to a building, business, or other place, in which staff park cars in some allotted or permitted space to save drivers the trouble and effort of finding a space and parking themselves.

This service may be provided either as a luxury convenience (often for a fee), or for the purpose of fitting more cars into an associated parking area (because valets have key access to all cars in an area, they can park many cars without much space between them).

Staff take responsibility for parking the car in an allotted or permitted space. The service is distinct from simply providing a parking area or directing drivers to spaces where they park for themselves. A fee and unusually dense parking are possible arrangements rather than requirements.
