multilegged water tower

An elevated water tank supported at its sides or corners by several legs, used for storage and supply pressure.

A multilegged water tower is an elevated tank of water connected to the ground with a pipe and held up at the sides or corners by multiple structural supports. It is constructed for storing water and increasing pressure in a water system.

The separate supports carry the tank above ground while a pipe connects it to the water system. Their arrangement at the sides or corners distinguishes this supporting form.

A ball-on-pipe water tower instead carries its tank on a central shaft. Both forms use elevation for the water-supply function.
