gutting ends

Substantial demolition of a built object's non-structural components is finished or halted.

The gutting of a built object ends when work finally ceases in a process of substantial demolition and removal of non-structural components of that object. This normally means removing interior walls, floors, and/or portions of the facade which are not load-bearing.

Gutting is usually an early stage in either the total renovation or demolition of an object.

The endpoint is final cessation of the substantial removal work, including a process that is halted. It does not by itself establish completion of the later renovation or demolition for which the gutting may have prepared the object.
