cultural center
A gathering place for cultural activities, often associated with a particular national or regional culture.
A cultural center is a gathering place where people meet to enjoy or partake in cultural activities, often with a specific cultural designation belonging to a particular nationality or regional culture. Activities may include speaking a particular language, watching or performing any of various arts, cooking and eating the cuisine of the designated culture, etc.
Activities can involve the arts, language, food, or other shared cultural practices. A national or regional affiliation is common without being mandatory.
The center provides a place for people to participate or gather around the cultural subject. A museum devoted only to displaying objects has a different principal activity.
